..Well my brand new CD Blue Bolero is now released to the world! The current single "Bossa Blue" is screaming up the jazz charts and time will tell if the album really grabs people by the 'you know whats'!

I am performing the entire album in a live setting this year complete with rhythm section and string quartet. Come check out a show if you are anywhere close by.

Well it's going to be an exciting year as my new album "Blue Bolero" is about to be released to the world. Always a little scary when a new album goes out especially in this case as I have made quite a musical departure. A good one I believe however. The first single "Bossa Blue" has just gone to radio and hopefully you will be hearing the song on your local radio station soon. You can see a new video of this song now on youtube, also on this myspace page.
I have transcribed the entire album too, so music students can have fun playing through the solos. These transcriptions/band parts & play along tracks will be available at the same time the CD is officially released (March 2nd).
I am hoping to perform this album live in a number of venues. We have already performed it a couple of times recently, Catalina Island Jazz festival being one, to great success. There are quite a lot of us on stage as I have 4 string players, but it's so much fun.
Speaking of live shows, I am having a record release party on March 4th in North Hollywood, California. There is limited seating but it's such a cool place. We will perform the entire album live, complete with rhythm section and string quartet. I will of course have Blue Bolero CDs available. There is very limited seating so please do get on the reservation list (and get a discount admission). More info and reservation list at www.chrisstandring.com
