Although attaining underground notoriety and rave reviews for their debut album Central Tunnel Eight (2004), Cipher System is not a household name within the sphere of melodic death metal – not yet. What was a first full length shot at their very own take on progressive melodic death, lethally infused with electronics, has now grown into... relentless, remorseless mechanical perfection – Communicate the Storms.

By no means a newcomer in the scene even in 2004, Cipher System was formed as Eternal Grief in 1996, at a time when the famed Gothenburg sound was at its peak, with the young band rising from the fertile ground of the classics of its time.

They first reached the ears of the underground in 2001 with their promo demo “Eyecon”, which gave them some proper attention – and with their next demo they caught the attention of Lifeforce Records, who released the three songs on a split CD with fellow Swedish metallers By Night.

In may 2004 the time had finally come to enter the legendary Studio Fredman to record 10 songs for what would be an unsuspecting world’s first taste of the utter brutality and serene harmony that Cipher System produces – an album that sounds remarkably fresh even 7 years later, a rare thing in times when a year old album easily becomes stale.

15 years after the birth of the band, Cipher System returns with what has to be described as a masterpiece in a genre where innovation has become sparse, putting their murderous machinations on public display, forged with fearsome skill and precision – Communicate the Storm. Packed in the rapturous art of a true genius of darkened visuals, Seth Siro Anton (Soilwork, Paradise Lost, SepticFlesh), and with a mix once again stemming from the hallowed grounds of Studio Fredman, this colossus of an album is sure to send tremors throughout the scene when it hits the street in September 2011!

    Nu är det dags för 2012 års upplaga av GP Scen, tävlingen där du som västsvenskt band eller artist kan få spela i finalen på Järntorget under Way out west-lördagen den 11 augusti samt vinna studiotid med Oskar Lindberg i Svenska grammofonstudion och promotion av Skiva.     The band started out back in -96, but in '98 the first singer joined and a two song demo was recorded, "Path of Delight". The response was amazing and they got their first contract, but with the singer only being 15 years old and no one in the band was over 18, the 10 year contract was neglected... .. One of the founders of the band, Andreas (guitars) left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Peter (Electronics)... .. The first real demo "Eyecon" (2001) got a great response, around the world, (9/10 www.swedishmetal.net, 8/10 close-up SWE) and things started to go Cipher System's way. Magnus, the new guitarist was hired and shortly after that they recorded 3 new songs. The recording (Promo 2003) caught the attention of Lifeforce records. This recording, is what, became the split-CD with By Night... .. Cipher System recorded 10 great melodic metal songs in Studio Fredman May 2004. This is what became their first full length CD: "Central Tunnel Eight". It was released through Lifeforce Records in november 2004... ...... ..In March 2008 they added Andreas Allenmark as the new guitarist and in 2010 They added Carl Obbel as their new singer. ....Cipher System are right now in the middle of the recording of their second album; "Communicate the Storms". Mixing will this time again be done in Studio Fredman in March 2011...
