Interests
General
In addition to my great interest in mythology, legends, history and the impact on our nature and culture, I also teach in cross-cultural communication. Further I am the owner of the site http://www.globalhouseholistic.com where I wish to spread the knowledge of faith, mythology, philosophy and holistic theories. I am also making holistic retreats and nature-quests. Please be welcome to visit my website about the influence that mythology makes on our daily life.
Lets tell eachother a story! I will start this page with The Myth of Diancecht and Minach.
In the first battle of Moy Tura, Nuada lost his hand. Diancecht fashioned a new one of silver and skillfully joined it to Nuada's arm. One day Diancecht's son Miach took what was left of Nuada's real hand, placed it next to Nuada's arm and uttered an incantation. AFter three days and nights the hand was rejoined and renewed.
Diancecht was furious that his son was a better healer than he. Diancecht struck Miach three times in the head with his sword. Miach was able to heal each wound. On the fourt blow, Diancecht split Miach's head in two, killing him.
From Miach's grave grew 365 herbs, each one with curative powers for one of the 365 nerves in the body. Miach's sister, Airmid, picked these herbs and arranged them according to their curative powers. Diancecht became so enraged that his son rivaled him even after death that he scattered the herbs about, hoplessly confusing them. If Diancecht hadn't done this, man would be immortal.

Heroes
Idols I do not think that I have, but I love my family, especially my parents and thanks them that I am born here on this magnificent earth, which in fact I can touch and therefore it is not an idol but a great and precious gift to live with.
( ETYMOLOGY) 'eidolon' is one of the first words in ancient Greek describing the concept of 'picture' - something that cannot be touched, as it is simply a picture.
(THEOSOPHY) ’eidolon’ (Greek ειδωλον: image, idol, double, apparition, phantom, ghost) is the astral double of a living being; a phantom-double of the human form; a shade or perispirit; the kamarupa after death, before its disintegration. The phantom can appear under certain conditions to survivors of the deceased..
Eidolon is also mentioned in Edgar Allan Poe's Dream-land as the ruler of the land.
(Graham's Magazine, June 1844) -
"Dream-Land" by Edgar Allan Poe --------------
BY a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule —
From a wild weird clime, that lieth, sublime,
Out of SPACE — out of TIME.
-----
Bottomless vales and boundless floods,
And chasms, and caves, and Titian woods,
With forms that no man can discover
For the dews that drip all over ;
Mountains toppling evermore
Into seas without a shore ;
Seas that restlessly aspire,
Surging, unto skies of fire;
Lakes that endlessly outspread
Their lone waters, lone and dead, —
Their still waters, still and chilly
With the snows of the lolling lily.
-----
By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule.
-----
By the lakes that thus outspread
Their lone waters, lone and dead, —
Their sad waters, sad and chilly
With the snows of the lolling lily, —
By the mountains — near the river
Murmuring lowly, murmuring ever, —
By the gray woods, — by the swamp
Where the toad and the newt encamp, —
By the dismal tarns and pools
Where dwell the Ghouls, —
By each spot the most unholy —
In each nook most melancholy, —
There the traveller meets aghast
Sheeted Memories of the Past —
Shrouded forms that start and sigh
As they pass the wanderer by —
White-robed forms of friends long given,
In agony, to the worms, and Heaven.
-----
By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule —
-----
For the heart whose woes are legion
'T is a peaceful, soothing region —
For the spirit that walks in shadow
'T is — oh 't is an Eldorado!
But the traveler, traveling through it,
May not — dare not openly view it ;
Never its mysteries are exposed
To the weak human eye unclosed ;
So wills its King, who hath forbid
The uplifting of the fringed lid;
And thus the sad Soul that here passes
Beholds it but through darkened glasses.
By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have wandered home but newly
From this ultimate dim Thule.

Who I'd like to meet:
Open Dialog - Holistic in the past, in the present with evry thoughts on the future - lovers of nature, mythology and history, art and music. But most of all the respect of nature and all the creatures, mankind and fauna that live here on our magnificent earth.
Each man’s life is a labyrinth at the centre of which lies his own death, and even after death it may be that he passes through a final maze before it is all ended for him. Within the great maze of a man’s life are many smaller ones, each seemingly complete in itself, and in passing through each one he dies in part, for in each he leaves behind him a part of his life and it lies dead behind him. It is a paradox of the labyrinth that the centre appears to be the way to freedom.
To enter the labyrinth that is life, is to enter a world of meander, twists, and turns, of coming back to oneself, and of a circuitous route to a goal. This provides life with a torque, a tension, so that we come not to fall asleep to the deeper levels, not to slip into inertia, obsessed with surface trivia, but to be constantly alive to dancing our Dream awake – to becoming what we can be, and who we are – awakening to self.
When we fall asleep to the very labyrinth we are constructing, as the making of our own lives, then we are deep in inertia and will be gobbled up or frightened to death by the bull-roaring Minotaur that lurks at the heart of the labyrinth. To dance your Dream awake is to grab this bull-man by the horns. … there are as many ways to dance the Dream awake as there are people on the Earth, each with a personal Minotaur living within the fabric of life as it is constructed, and unfolded.
