BIOGRAPHY OF Roger K Tay AKA NASTY TAY Born in Ghana Takoradi, moved to Sweden at the age of 13, during the hard times and cold nights in Sweden Nasty found his hustle. A tape was given to him by one of his boys of a group called BDP (Boggie Down Production) through that Nasty felt in love with hip-hop and he started listening to artist such as Big Daddy Kane, Rakhim, Cool Mo Dee ect. Through influence listing to Jay Z, He started to write his own lyrics with friends. Nasty started performing at schools and discos. He formed a group with his homies. Growing out of the group, Nasty formed another group called “Outstanding. The group influenced him to change his style to R’n’B. He started playing at places like Denmark, Malmo, Gothenburg (Sweden). Through this Nasty joined another group in Gothenburg where they did their own mix with all the hip-hop and R’n’B tracks. In 2000, he was given a hip- life tape, from that moment he got high with hip-life and Nasty knew he could step the game up. He started recording his hip-life album which he was privileged to record with the legend Ben Brako. Also on the album Nasty had a group called Blao from Gothenburg including some home boys from Malmo (Sweden) as well as a Nigerian artist Black Jaguar. The album was a success which he got to tour around Europe. Through touring Nasty got to perform at the Golden stool in London which was off the hook. Unfortunately he could not release the album due to bad management. But as they say “Sticks and Stones may broke your bones, but Nasty’s music will never die so Hate it or Love it Nasty is here to stay.
