About Film making with John

My upbringing was a crude cinematic baptism – growing up in Hollywood, I managed to land a job in the camera department at Warner Brothers when I was 18 years old, beginning a long, hands-on education of technical filmmaking.  

I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film production from the University of Colorado and was signed as a commercial director upon graduation.

As a producer for Cosmic Entertainment (Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson's company) I continued to produce, write and direct short films that won numerous awards at film festivals.

One of my short films – ‘Mr. Dramatic’ (9 min - 2005) was an official selection at Tribeca film festival and won awards including -- Best Comedy @ Santa Cruz Film Festival, Audience Award @ Chicago International Film Festival, Golden Toof Award for best short at ‘The Onion's' Toofy Film Festival and was a finalist at the USA Film Festival for best short.

'HIGH school’ is my first feature film. A plot-driven comedy that I directed, co-wrote and executive produced. The film stars Adrien Brody, Michael Chiklis, Colin Hanks, Sean Marquette, Matt Bush, Mykelti Williamson, Yeardly Smith, Michael Vartan among many other talented actors.
