He has performed everything from jazz to rock, classical, soul, and blues with groups in the Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan area, and in and around Toledo, Ohio. Today he lives and performs out of the Washington DC area. Richard has been influenced by such trumpet luminaries as Chet Baker, Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, and Chris Botti. In June 2007, Richard was diagnosed with Amyloidosis, a very rare, progressive, debilitating, and fatal disease for which there is currently no cure. He decided to produce and record his first album as the leader of a jazz group, and to dedicate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each CD to the public awareness of Amyloidosis and support for the patients and families that are affected by this devastating disease. Richard has a warm, intimate, romantic sound that mixes warmth and emotion with the lyrical west coast cool jazz sound made popular by trumpet legend Chet Baker. He is quickly becoming a highly sought after trumpeter on the contemporary jazz scene. His new album "Songs From My Heart" has been greeted with rave reviews. Scott Albin of Jazz.com rates the album as "OUTSTANDING. A WORK OF SUPERIOR MERIT". Edward Blanco of EJazzNews.com writes, "Harris features a sextet who together deliver a FIRST RATE PERFORMANCE THROUGHOUT. Harris manages to forge his own unique style playing a rich deep toned horn that seems perfect for the warm jazz found here.     I agre on this is the richest country of the world there shouldnt be poverty. Allthough there is no exuses whether parents love there children enough as in tech them responsability and education so we will not see our children suffer working at 10$ an hr or min wage. Love and support also degress in college works also teach them even if we are low income family due to circumstances in the parents mistake to learn from our mistakes look ahead let the people judge and ldt GOD JESuS. Take the wheel. PETRA Flores. 8th grade education. Also wants the best for her 2 daughters rosie and gabbriella.

    Friends are friends forever together 'till the end.
    You promised me that you would always be my friend.
    One day something changed I'm not sure what it was.
    I lost you on that day and the reason was because
    it was a late dark night and we had a stupid fight.
    And for some reason, I don't know why, we couldn't make it right.
    We went our separate ways.
