Springboro Tea Party To Host A Candidate Meet and Greet on Thursday at 6-8.30pm.

By Sonny Thomas

The Springboro Tea Party will host a “Meet and Greet” this Thursday October 28th at the Holiday Inn Express at 851 Commerce Center Dr in Franklin next to Wal-Mart. The event will take place from 6:00pm to 8:30pm in one of the meeting rooms at the hotel.

The main purpose of this is a chance for the local voter to meet and hopefully consider voting for the featured candidate and note just feel lost by the left/right paradigm all the time. There are more than just the Democrats and Republicans to choose from. Yet some of the Republicans that are featured are endorsed by the Reps but may not totally be in the party machine.

‘5 Candidates from 3 Parties’ is the sub-title of the feature. Featured that evening are: 1 Constitution Party candidate, for U.S. Senate Eric Deaton, 2 Republicans; Debe Terhar for State School Board of Education and Dave Yost for State Auditor to replace the departing Mary Taylor (A Springboro Tea Party favorite); and 2 Libertarians; Robert Waters for 67 dist for Ohio State Rep and Charlie Earl for Sec. of State.

Of these 5, Deaton, Terhar and Waters are officially endorsed by the Springboro Tea Party. Mike Katz and I both feel that these candidates deserve our vote of confidence via the endorsements. So there are more choices overall when one goes to the ballot box. The Republicans claim they support ‘competition, except when it comes to the ballot box. Yet the Democrats do not support the free market and it shows since they really don’t have 3rd parties that threaten their voter turnout.

Each candidate will have 20 min to stump speech and a 10 min Q & A. The Tea Party will also have free DVD’s for the public to take home as well as refreshments will be available for the event. You can go to my blog at www.MySpace.com/SonnyThomas/Blog for more up to date info and website links to these candidates to get an overview of their platforms and positions on various issues.

Unfortunately, other candidates that were invited were unable to attend due to scheduling.
