    Wasi (wah-c) Born in Kingston Jamaica, Wasi migrated to the states at the age of two. He resided in Philadelphia Pa before moving to Miami Florida in early 1996. At 5ft 7inches and of slim build he captivates his audience with an in-depth, raspy, and powerful tone of voice. Many are left awe struck in amazement at how something so big can come from someone so small. His passion is reflected, and expressed in every line that leaves his mouth and graces the mic both on and off stage. Little man, big heart would be one of the best descriptions of Wasi. His passion for music is both unique and genuine. His method of recording and creating music is what he refers to as "premeditated freestyles". The majority of his music is created in his head, no pens, no paper he writes in his mind. His past lifestyle as a hustler in combination with his long run in the underground music circuit has earned him a great deal of respect and notoriety in the streets of south Dade County. Wasi possess the ability to sincerely relate to almost any one. He prides his self in having the ability to perform, conduct, and fit in, just about any environment/atmosphere, and yet still being himself, honest and true to what he knows and believes. Wasi's sincere love for music is his inspiration for writing music of other genres. Not only does he rap remarkably well, but he writes r&b, as well as alternative tunes that he hopes will one day solidify his position as one of the greats in today's world of music. Wasi posses all of the qualities needed to be a one of a kind fixture in not only rap/hip hop, but music entertainment as a whole. As he him self would say "toast to life getting better. And thank God for making me realer than most". Wasi linked up with Jimmi Hart and Gold in 1997. They met at an audition involving forty to fifty other emcees to be featured on a song with Mother Superior. The three of them were selected to do the song and perform in Tampa, FL as the opening act for Das EFX. At this time Wasi, Jimmi Hart and Gold became close and Wasi was invited in as a member of The Street Light Poets. Wasi and SLP performed at many venues in and through out Miami including opening for Wyclef Jean at the Bay front Park Amphitheater. The Street Light Poets are considered pioneers in Miami's underground music movement. In 2006, Wasi released his first and only solo project "Sincerely Yours". Unfortunately he was incarcerated shortly after and was not able to properly promote and market the project. Despite this set back, "Sincerely Yours" is still critically acclaimed amongst the streets and others who had the opportunity to listen to it. Currently, Wasi is set to release his new album "Realer than most". "Mind right-money match" is currently his most popular song and set to be the first single. The remix feat T- pains "Nappy boy" "Young Cash" and former Universal records recordings artist "Chaos"1/3 of Miami's own "Grind mode". In addition to this new album Wasi is also set to release his first book titled "The Trap" which will be available in hardcopy, E book, and a one of a kind audio version. Wasi & S.L.P also released a series of mix tapes from "Whoa hay" part one and two, to "Dade County heat"1998-2001 in a time where there weren't many others doing such in Miami FL. "Street light" paved the way for many! "Streets on fire" was a Street Light Poets group album released in 2002. Though the album was shrink-wrapped, and bar coded it was mostly sold hand to hand in the streets by Wasi and S.L.P. The men sold almost ten thousand copies, and got a lot of support from the UM and FIU college stations. The group performed several times at both colleges. "Sin-cerely yours" Was released in 2003 and despite Wasi being incarcerated shortly after its release, the album circulated heavily in South Dade Miami Fl and certified him in the streets.
