Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has become one of my favorite actors over the past few years. He hasn’t delivered any Oscar-worthy performances (although winning that award is a dream of his), but he’s one of the most entertaining and charismatic guys working in Hollywood today. There’s a sense of fun to everything he does, and his genuine appreciation of his place in the world comes through in his personality, which is a refreshing reversal from the attitude of many of the Hollywood elite.

Johnson appears in G.I. Joe: Retaliation later this summer, but right now he’s shooting Michael Bay’s next film, a smaller project called Pain and Gain. There are no giant robots in sight for this story, which tells the real-life tale of two muscleheads (Johnson and Mark Wahlberg) who kidnap and torture a Miami businessman.
