Remember Pete and Debbie, the older, more responsible couple from “Knocked Up?” Well, in Judd Apatow’s latest film we get to follow up on their life and take a peek at where they are at these days. And let me tell you, it ain’t pretty.
It turns out both Pete and Debbie, played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, are turning 40. And this sets the stage for a rude awakening, also known as a midlife crisis. From the trailer it looks like the crisis revolves around Debbie (who lies to her own doctor about her age), but Pete is definitely in the loop. This won’t appeal to everyone, but anyone who is in this general age range and can relate to the scenario (family, career, kids, etc.) should find this quite laughable. Even if you’re not in that demographic, don’t despair. After all, it is Judd Apatow’s work we’re talking about here. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. “This is 40″ opens December 21st, 2012. .
