Katy Perry has every reason to be burned out. The pop star toured endlessly in support of her 2010 album Teenage Dream, and she followed that disc’s success with a new single, “Part of Me,” in February. Perry is planning to release another new single, “Wide Awake,” later this month. So you can imagine why Perry says she is really really in need of a break.

Perry, who accepted an award for artist of the year the NARM Music Awards on Thursday night, said, “I swear, after this song, I’m taking a fucking vacation.” She added, “I have to say that I do a lot to sell my records. I do the right things … I work very hard! I like to sell out in all the best ways.” You can watch the complete acceptance speech below:

“Wide Awake” was written specifically for Perry’s upcoming 3D concert film, Part of Me 3D, which will hit theaters July 5. The track is included on her recent Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection reissue. Perry also plans to release a video for the single. Earlier this month she tweeted, “3rd long ass day of shooting … the new music video!!!!! #workinggirl. About to shoot one of the last scenes for the music video … I have to pick a costume from the Cali Dreams Tour, which would u pick? #KP3D.”

Perry also told MTV News of the video, “I know exactly what that music video is. I know exactly who is directing it. I know the art direction, the people, the narrative. And I had that idea while I was writing the song.” Listen to that single below:
