Four of Michael Jackson’s brothers have announced plans to launch their “Unity” tour on Wednesday, just five days prior to the third anniversary of the King Of Pop’s fatal overdose..
Marlon, Jermaine, Tito and Jackie will return to the stage as The Jacksons, performing classic Jackson 5 hits. When asked about the timing Marlon told The Boombox, “For me, this cycle that comes around every year – this day, that day – that doesn’t affect me because it affects me every day. When that day comes around, it’s the same. You learn to live with it. I still wake up sometimes and go, ‘Jeez. I can’t believe my brother’s not here.’”
.
Jermaine added that the brothers needed time to heal after Michael’s death and they’ve rearranged these songs to suit their voices and they’ll also pay tribute to the King Of Pop with a slideshow and medley that includes “Gone Too Soon.” “There’s certain songs that make you feel the sorrow,” said Tito. “Then again, there are other songs that bring so much joy and happiness, such as ‘ABC’ and ‘I Want You Back’ and the up-tempo stuff like ‘This Place Hotel.’ I just imagine how he used to walk and spin and do all these things. You can feel his presence here.”
.
The Jacksons’ tour will begin at the Rama Casino in Ontario, Canada, and wrap up on July 29th at Snoqualmie Casino Amphitheater in Washington State. The tour will also include a date at Harlem’s Apollo Theater, where the band won an amateur night in 1969. What do you think of the Jacksons’ upcoming tour? Awesome & Keeping the music alive!
I have seen them perform sense the Triumph Tour in the 80's. Looking forward to seeing them in Dallas.
"Unfortunately I come from the School of Thought that A N Y Jackson - Reunion - Tour w/o MJ is set 4 Doom;" along with, Mike B4 he passed away was in his "early" 50's I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllyy don't think anybody in their right mind is going 2 pay good money 2 hear 4 men (in there Mid Years) singing some "Bubble Gun" tunes - like they did in their Youth. Now I have NOTHING Against the Jacksons. I got mad love 4 them. But if they, R "N O T" trying 2 do something beyond what they did w/their "Victory Tour" (i.e. some N E W material) I don't think they're going 2 B Successful. "Hey the Rolling Stones R "much" Older than the Jacksons," & they STILL R doing it. The only problem is the Stones didn't give U kiddie music, & they somehow some way can come out w/some new stuff. I don't C The Jacksons doing something that's needed 4 this 2 work, which is somehow some way getting a hold 2 Michael's catalog & redoing that music 2 suit them. "Just a thought."
