The London 2012 festival is set to kick off tomorrow in celebration of the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympic Games that begin later this month. The list of performers will definitely make it something to remember. Among the musical talent that will appear between tomorrow and September 9th are Rihanna, Jay-Z, David Guetta, and Elton John.

The festival will include 12,000 events and performances across the U.K. Organizers for the event say that there will be 10 million tickets for free as well as paid events for film, music, theater, fashion, dance, and art. They even go so far as to say that the festival is “the biggest festival the U.K. has ever seen.”

With a budget of $86 million, that might well be the case. The festival is the last event in the Cultural Olympiad that was started in 2008. 18 million people have participated so far.

The biggest music portion will be a BBC Radio 1 show that will take place on June 23rd and 24th. The show will feature six stages in East London and will include (in addition to those we mentioned above) Flo Rida, Jessie J, Lana del Rey, Leona Lewis, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Florence and the Machine, Dappy, Jack White and more.
