We never took Common or Drake to be the sort of rappers to be beefing with one another, but thanks to lyrics in one of Common’s new songs “Sweet” off his new album The Dreamer, The Believer, a battle has ensued between the two MCs. The argument stems from portions of the famed Chicago rapper’s new song in which he essentially calls out other rappers that he deems to be “soft.” And seeing as he references rapper’s who sing, (Some hoes ass niggas/Singing all around me man, la la la/You aint muthaf-cking Frank Sinatra/Uh, lil bitch), of which Drake is currently the most popular, the Young Money rapper took exception.

Common added fuel to the fire when he recently appeared on MTV VJ Sway’s radio show “Sway In The Morning” and confirmed that “Sweet’ was indeed aimed at Drake. “”He open his mouth and said some things,” Common said when discussing Drake’s objectinon to the diss. “If he want it, that’s what he want,” Common added when asked if he’s now beefing with Drizzy. Last night, while filming a Christmas special for MuchMusic at Massey Hall in Toronto during a taping of ‘Home for the Holidays’, Justin Bieber brought his 4-year-old sister Jazmyn onstage to help him sing his hit songs”Baby” and “One Time.” Baby Bieber, who goes by the nickname Jazzy, was wearing a pink sweatsuit and sat in Justin’s arms for the length of the performance. Bieber also swapped some joking lines with his baby sis. “She shaved my brother Jaxon’s head!” he said. “He’s like 2 and he looks just like a big baby.” He also told Jazzy that her new short hairdo looked beautiful. Dub reggae star Matisyahu is making headlines again, but this time it’s unrelated (or so we think) to his recent decision to shave off his customary beard which he had previously kept as a sign of devotion to his Hasidic Jewish faith. According to photographer Rebecca Smeyne, who had been assigned to take photos of the singer’s performance last night at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg– the singer’s first show since his facial hair change–Matisyahu reportedly kicked her in the face and forcefully wrestled her camera away from her, breaking it in the process. “At first I assumed he was trying to crowdsurf, that he wasn’t deliberately trying to step on me,” writes Smeyene, “but when I got up, he was in the middle of the audience. When I turned to look at him, he charged at me.”

Robert Pattinson may have garnered “international sex symbol” status playing Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, but the romance in his upcoming film ‘Bel Ami’ is supposed to take things to the next level. Based on an 1885 French novel, Pattinson plays Georges Duroy, a detestable scoundrel who works his way up the social ladder by using his good looks to manipulate the wives of Parisian high society. Basically, Duroy was ahead of his time, searching out sugar mamas more than 100 years before the term “cougar” entered the English language.
